Shadow

The shadow is the hidden place where I hide from the world. It can also be the veil that hides my face. It can be the protective cover of the night.

The shadow is protective and in it I find comfort and solace, away from the aggressive world we have somewhat built.

In the daylight, I can find a shadow below a tree and read a very good book.

The shadow can be the blocks and resistance I find inside of me, the paralysis I feel when I am almost getting there, the discomfort of developing new habits, of cutting off the old and comfortable, so that the new in me spread light to others.

The shadow can be the place where I rest when I need to think and meditate. I remember living in the shadow for many, many years. A kind of sadness installed  in my heart, like a light that had been turned off for a very long, long time.

Whatever shadow represents to us, it is always an area of darkness caused when something blocks the light, a hiding place where we hide or hide something we are not willing to show in broad daylight.

For me, the darkness of the shadow will always be linked to growth time, the growth into maturity that we  know so well, the one that happens when we question the truth and resilience of the pillars in which we built our lives and our convictions, the deep suffering of the soul, its bleeding…to renewal, a rebirth to life, of who we are. The shaping and sharpening of our character and personalities.

Could it be any different? Would it be worth any other way, but the way that is most excellent and better for us, although painful? Doesn´t the shadow makes part of the light? Doesn´t it exist because of it? would there be shadows if there wasn´t light? Have you seen the reflexion of the shadow of a tree on the grass? Would it be there if it wasn´t for the light?  No, they wouldn´t, they are different sides of the same coin, neither of them lasts forever.
