So, as promised, here I am with a free resource, and since it worked very well for me, I think it will work well for you too. I am referring to the e-course I took on learning to write for the web on open2study .com. This is a totally free e-course from Open Universities Australia. And I find it very good for a beginner.

What´s in it for you?

You will learn that the difference between writing for the web and writing for print is connected to how differently readers behave. This course will also explain how to accommodate the needs of online readers, through web design, writing style, structure and search engine optimization (SEO). You will find out how content can impact the reader´s experience, as well as how the reader´s experience can impact the way they interpret online content.

You will have available transcripts of each video, which is quite good if you intend to keep a written support of what the instructor teached. At the end of each topic you will have a pop quiz, with a multiple choice question, promptly corrected. At the end of each module you will have an assessment composed of aproximately 10 questions, and it will be graded. At the end of the course you will have a printable Certificate of Achievement, with the grades of all modules. You will also going to get badges throughout your achievements. Best is hard! But I am sure you will find other features as interesting as these. 🙂
